Tea has been enjoyed for centuries because of its therapeutic benefits and often ritualistic properties. Some natural benefits derived from tea include:
- High antioxidants
- Effect on allergies, arthritis, energy level, digestion, nerves, certain illnesses, memory enhancement and more
Largely because of its healing rewards, after water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage on the planet. All six classes of tea (black, green, oolong, pu-erh, yellow and white) are derived from the same bush, Camellia sinensis.
Tea growing and blending is a complex science that yields an artful experience. Geographic location, soil terrain and reputable processors are among the primary sourcing factors in selecting House of Steep tea and tea blends. At House of Steep, we primarily serve whole-leave tea because the leaves are closer to their origins: fewer processing and break-down steps yield more healthful benefits to the consumer. By using a diffuser, the leaves may expand for more flavor and therapy.
Many factors go into a good cup of tea, in addition to the quality of leave and its origin:
- Steep water quality
- Water temperature (varies by tea class)
- Steep time
- Tea to water ratio
Allow House of Steep to brew you a perfect pot of tea. It is our hope that you may sit with us, enjoy our tea, and take advantage of our foot sanctuary as you’re balancing your mind and body. Alternatively, take the Steep experience with you: carry-out cups are available and we sell selected herbal foot blends to-go for your home spa.
Would you like to carry your tea knowledge forward? Schedule a time for a private tea tasting (groups up to 15) with one of our knowledgeable staff members.
